Cherry Run - Weikert, PA

 

Conowingo Dam Site Guide - northern MD area to view bald eagles and gulls, mainly mid Oct. - mid March.

 

Dale's Ridge - Lewisburg, PA; 137 acre conservation easement, part of Dale/Engle/Walker property on west side of Strawbridge Rd, between Rte 192 and Buffalo Crossroads, parking lot on south end of Bull Run bridge across Strawbridge Rd. Click here for trail description on Merrill Linn Conservancy website. You will need to scroll down page. 48+ bird species sighted. This trail is closed during some hunting seasons. A request has been made to Linn Conservancy to post dates on their website.

 

Important Bird Areas in PA IBA- Formed in PA in 1996, first statewide IBA program in the country. IBA originally started by BirdLife International in Europe in the 1980's to help reverse declining trends in bird populations. An IBA is a site that is part of a global network of places recognized for their outstanding value to bird conservation.

 

Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area - Lebanon-Lancaster County line, late winter migratory bird migration. Thousands of snow geese.

 

Montour Preserve - Washingtonville, PA. More than 200 species of birds have been recorded at this site; fields, lake, woods, wetlands. Pergrine falcons nest here, sometimes viewable via online videocamera.
